The individual risk from a necessary imaging exam is quite small when compared to the benefit of aiding accurate diagnosis or intervention. However, the FDA recommends that health care professionals and hospital administrators work to reduce radiation exposure to patients by following these steps:.

- Beyond the Crossroad!
These precautions are especially important with pediatric patients, since children are more susceptible to radiation effects than adults. In addition to referral also called "appropriate use" criteria, screening guidelines are an important tool available to the referring physician to determine if a certain CT examination is justified.

CT devices are classified under 21 CFR Prompt reporting of adverse events can help the FDA identify and better understand the risks associated with the product. Health care personnel employed by facilities that are subject to Reporting Adverse Events Medical Devices should follow the reporting procedures established by their facilities.
Characterisation of hydraulic fractures in limestones using X-ray microtomography
Medical device manufacturers, distributors, importers, and device user facilities which include many health care facilities must comply with the Reporting Adverse Events Medical Devices. In this book, multidisciplinary specialists explain the foundations and principles of tomographic imaging and describe a broad range of applications.
The content is organized in five parts, which are dedicated to image reconstruction, microtomography, industrial tomography, morphological medical tomography and functional medical tomography. Introduction to Tomography, Pierre Grangeat.

Fracturing of rocks and other geomaterials involves multi-scale processes, from the nucleation of small cracks, their propagation into a complex heterogeneous solid, to their final arrest. In the past 10 years, advances in X-ray tomography imaging techniques, either three dimensional or four dimensional when time-lapse acquisitions are performed, allow detecting fractures at small scale and the growth and coalescence of tiny cracks into well-developed fractures.
Some of these fracturing processes involve the coupling between fluids, chemical reactions and fracturing.
dimepirsmas.tk In the present study I illustrate some of these processes, how they can be imaged using high-resolution X-ray computed tomography; and how conceptual models can make the link between microscopic processes and macroscopic fracturing.
